The Little Hans foundation

Little Hans is the common name of Freud’s famous child case, described in a study from 1909. The young boy has lent his name to a foundation, which supports the psychoanalytic treatment of children and adolescents. It was founded in 1996.

The Little Hans foundation distributes its financial support directly to the children’s families. The quality of treatments is assured through the byelaws of the foundation, which demand that treatment is conducted by members of the Swedish Psychoanalytical Society (IPA) or the Swedish Psychoanalytical Association (IPA). Little Hans also supports research and education concerning the psychoanalysis of children and adolescents.

Little Hans is authorised through Swedish legislation. It has mainly received support by a tenfold of renowned Swedish funds, as well as by private donors.
